The first paper I will post recipes from will be from The Kansan, A kansas City, Kansa paper. This issue is the 7th annual Silver Spoon cookbook.This paper was publsihed on Sunday, May 28,1967 ,yes that`s right 1967. This paper I have gotten from my mom to type the recipes for her and put in book form.
On the front cover it states that their was six Silver Spoon Awards and two honorable mentions in each catorgory from a total of 512 contest recipes. Their is six catorgories : Main Dishes, Appetizers and soups, Salads and vegetables, Breads, Desserts and Fruits, Convience foods(No microwaves here).According to the paper it this contest brought the greatest response in the history of the Kansan Cookbooks.The judges were as follows: Mrs. Jo Dougherty, Mrs. Ted Hartshorn, Mrs. H. W. Irick, Mrs. A.W. Magers, Mrs. Derieth Rone.The paper starts out with main dishes on page 2
