Julie`s Easy-Cheap Frosting
1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoon flour1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 1/2 teaspoon flavoring ( more if desired)
Add milk to flour and mix until smooth. cook over medium heat until thickened. While it cools , cream shortening with sugar thoroughly . Ad cooled flour mixture to sugar mixture and beat on high speed of electric mixer for 5 minutes. Add flavoring of your choice.

Chocolate Icing
Here is a recipe just for frosting for the sheet cake that was posted yesterday
Chocolate icing
Mrs. Virginia B. Skinner
1/4 pound margarine
6 Tablespoon milk
4 Tablespoon cocoa
1 pound box confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nutmeats
Start making icing about 5 minutes before sheet cake is done. Combine margarine ,milk, and cocoa and bring to a rapid boil. Remove from heat and add sugar, vanilla and nutmeats. Beat well and spread on cake when taken from oven.

Cooked Icing
I have tried this recipe and it is goood. This recipe comes from 1967
Cooked Icing
7 Tablespoon flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cook flour and 1 cup milk in top of double boiler until consistency of mashed potatoes. Cover and cool. Combine sugar, butter ,2 Tablespoon milk and vanilla, then flour mixture. Beat for 15 minutes and frost warm cake.
