Food For the Gods

Ok, I know their is only one God, but this is the name of the recipe.......

Food For the Gods
Mrs. John O. Fife

9 heaping Tablespoons cracker crums
2 cups sugar
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
1 cup nutmeats, chopped
1/2 pound dates, chopped
6 eggs, separated

Mix cracker crumbs, sugar, baking powder, nutmeats and dates. Add beaten egg yolks. Mix well intil all is a crumbly mass. Beat egg whites very stiff. Fold in egg whites thoroughly. Bake in 9 x 13 x 2-inch cake pan for 3/4 hour at 325 degrees. Cool. Serve with whipped cream. Will keep a week if wraped in wax paper.
