This recipe calls for any pie filling, use whatever.....and is the last recipe from 1967 Silver Spoon Cookbook from the Kansan.
Deep Dish Pie
Mrs, R. E. Rice
1/2 stick margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 can prepared pie filing mix , any flavor
Melt margarine in baking dish. Mix sugar, flour, salt and baking powder. Add milk. Batter will be thin. Pour batter on margarine in baking dish. DO NOT STIR. Spoon pie filling on top. Try to distribute evenly, but do not spread. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Fruit Caliente
This recipe using lots of fruits.
Fruit Caliente
1 orange
1 lemon
3 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 8-oz can pineapple wedges
1 8-oz can apricot halves
1 8-oz can sliced peaches
1 8-oz can pitted Bing cherries
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
sour cream
Grate rind of orange and lemon into brown sugar. Slice orange and lemon very thick. Remove seeds. Arrange layer of all fruits in baking dish and sprinkle with brown sugar and a dash of nutmeg. Repeat layers of fruit, sugar and nutmegs until all is used. Heat on top of stove until very hot. Top with sour cream and serve immediately. Serves 6.
