Well I don't how you would pronounce this but here is the recipe
Slovak Kolachie
Mrs. Mary C. Yurchak
1 cup milk, scald
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cake yeast or 1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
2 egg, well beaten
3 1/2 cups enriched flour
Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, softened in warm water and eggs. Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough. Beat or knead vigorously. Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead slightly. Let dough rise 10 minutes and keep covered. Roll out on floured board and cut in 4-inch squares. Place filling in center of dough and pick up all 4 corners and twist to hold in filling. Place in greased pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. This dough is also good for coffee cake and cinnamon rolls.
For filling, use any cooked fruit, such as prunes, apricots or peaches. It must be dry and chopped in small pieces.

Refrigerator Rolls
Here is another recipe for refrigerator rolls, this one from 1967.
Refrigerator Rolls
Mrs. Vona Odneal
1 cake yeast
1/4 cup water, lukewarm
2/3 cup fat
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup potatoes, mashed and hot
1 cup potato water, hot
3 eggs, well beaten
4 to 5 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Place fat, sugar, salt, mashed potatoes and potato water in large mixing bowl. Stir until fat and sugar are melted and mixture cools to lukewarm. Add eggs and mix well. Add 2 cups flour and mix well. Add sufficient enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto a well floured board and knead in flour until dough is smooth and can be easily handled. Dough must be soft. Do not use more flour then needed. Place in lightly oiled bowl and allow to rise until double in size. Knead down and shape into rolls. Allow to rise to double size. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes approxiamately 50 rolls. This dough will keep several days in refrigerator.
The recipe calls for salt, which wasn`t in the list of ingredients, I would say use about a 1 -1 1/2 teaspoon salt in this recipe, the usual for refrigerator rolls.

turkey dinner...rolls
What is a turkey dinner without the bread. I usually cheap on this aspect of the meal and get brown and serve rolls, it is way easier than making them from scratch. In which I can`t seem to do just yet, oooohhhh the perfect roll , that looks just like the store bought. Ohhh how I love this modern convenience. With all of the other baking and cooking that is done, this makes it soo much handy and easy , just put in the oven while towards the end of all the cooking and baking at least 10 -15 minutes and wha-lol you have rolls for the feast of turkey.
I hope everyone out there in blogland has a wonderfulll Turkey day, this is a week in advance or rather 5 days in advance. And please don`t stuff yourselves, just the turkey, lol.
