Ring-Around-Beef Patties

Yes, I know I have token some time off from putting recipes on here,...It has slipped my mind, and it has been frigid cold here as well...so maybe I can get back in the swing of things.

Ring-Around-Beef Patties

1 pound ground beef
1 can (2 oz) mushroom stem and pieces
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
2 Tablespoon onions, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, beaten
2 large green peppers
2 Tablespoon catsup
2 Tablespoon American cheese, grated

Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Add enough milk to make 1/2 cup. Combine ground beef, mushroom liquid, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and egg
Remove ends and seeds from green pepper. Cut each into 3-inch rings in shallow baking pan. Pack meat mixture into pepper rings. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Combine catsup and grated cheese and spoon over patties. Continue to bake 10 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.

Hamburger Stroganoff

I do believe that a good stroganoff in comfort food to the core.
This recipe was from way back in the year 1961, from the Kansas City Kansan Silver Spoon cookbook and it took first place in that year, so it was also in the 1971 year cookbook, hence that is how have obtained, My mom didn`t have the year 1961.


Hamburger Stroganoff
Evelyn Brownrigg

1/2 cup minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup butter
1 pound ground beef
2 Tablespoons flour
2 teaspoon salt
1 pound fresh mushrooms or 8-oz can mushrooms ,sliced
1   121/2-oz can cream of chicken soup,undiluted
1 cup sour cream
2 Tablespoons minced parsley

Saute onion and garlic in butter over medium heat. Add meat and brown. Add flour, salt, pepper and mushrooms. Cook five minutes. Add soup, simmer uncovered 10 minutes, stir in sour cream. Heat thru. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve with noodles, rice or spaghetti.


*really good with egg noodles

Souper Dooper Burgers

I know this is mmmmgood. This recipes comes from 1968.






Sooper Dooper burger
Mrs. George Jinnings

1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon onion soup mix
1 Tablespoon sour cream
salt

Mix all ingredients and shape into patties. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Broil on foil and serve on hot toasted buns.

Patio Burgers

I know alittle late for that Labor day cookout, but hey a person can cookout anytime , right.
This recipe came out of the Kansan cookbook of 1968.

Patio Burgers
Mrs. Howard H. Miller

1 Tablespoon shortening
1/2 cup onion,chopped
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 Tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 bottle lemon-lime carbonated drink ( sprite or 7-up or something like that)
3/4 cup catsup
hamburger buns

Melt shortening in skiller. Add meat and onions. cook ,drain off grease and add drink. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Spoon on toasted buns.

This is like sloppy joes or what they call juicy burgers.

What a weird name for a recipe but it sure is good and I guess you want more then one serving of this is how the recipe got its name and again it is from The Kansan `s silver Spoon Cookbook of 1967.

1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound salt pork ( I used sausage)
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can tomato paste
1 No. 2 1/2 can tomatoes ( I used diced tomatoes with roasted garlic )
pinch oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 No. 2 can peas 9 I used peas and carrots)
1 small can pimientos, chopped
1 cup black olives, chopped
1 pound package large macaroni, cooked ( I used Penne pasta)
1/2 pound American cheese, grated ( I used colby)

Brown salt pork. pour off greased. Brown out ground beef and onion. Add all seasonings and simmmer until well blended. Add peas, pimiento and olives. mix with cooked macaroni and put in baking dish. top with cheese. Bake 30 minutes at 250 to 300 degrees.

Hobo Dinner

Here is another recipe from 1967. This is a recipe for 1 person , but can make it for more then one by adding more ingredients. Hobo Dinner Mrs. Herbert Lipp 1 ground beef patty 5 slices potatoes 2 slices onion 3 slices carrots salt and pepper to taste 1 pat butter Arrange in layers, ground beef, potatoes, onion and carrots. Sal and pepper to taste. Wrap in foil, sealing well. Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Open foil when ready to eat and dot vegetables with butter. Turnips and green pepper rings also may be added. Serves 1.

All-In -One Spaghetti Supper

This is super good and is another recipe from the year of 1967 .

All-in-one Spaghetti Supper

1 pound ground beef
1 cup onion, chopped
2 medium cloves garlic, minced
1 6-oz can tomato paste
1 pint tomato juice
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 1/2 cup water
1 Tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
onion rings , if desired
green pepper rings, if desired
1 teaspoon oregano
1 package spaghetti ( 7 to 8-oz)

Combine all ingredients except spaghetti. Cover and bring to boiling point. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add spaghetti. Stir to separate strands. Simmer, cover 30 minutes or until spaghetti is tender. Add rings of onion and green pepper last 5 minutes, if desired. sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

hamburger upside down bake

This recipe is good.

Hamburger Upside down Bake

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
2 Tablespoons instant minced onion
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 15-oz can corn and pimiento ( I couldn`t find this ,so i got can of corn and got some pimientos)
1 package cornbread mix
1 8-oz can tomat osauce

Brown meat and onion in oven proof skillet. Add chili powder, salt and tomato paste. Push meat mixture around edge of skillet. Add corn in center. Prepare cornbread according to package directions., But do not bake. Pour cornbread mixture over meat and corn ,spreading evenly. Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes, then turn out of hot serving plates. Heat tomato sauce and serve over meat and cornbread.
