Ohhh who doesn't like Pound cake?
Chocolate Pound Cake
Mrs. Charles F. Bowers
2 sticks butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 small cans chocolate syrup
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
7 small chocolate bars, melted
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add chocolate syrup. Add sifted flour and salt, alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and melted chocolate bars. Mix well. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees in tube pan that has been well greased and floured

Lemon Pound Cake
Who doesn`t love pound cake....and lemon on top of that....
Lemon pound Cake
Mrs. Mary Holstrom
4 eggs
1 package 2 layer size yellow cake mix
1 package instant lemon pudding mix ( dry)
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup salad oil
Lemon Glaze
Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored. Add cake mix, pudding mix, water and oil. beat 10 minutes at medium speed on electric mixer.Pour into ungreased 10-inch tube pan with removeable bottom. bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees. leaving cake on pan bottom, remove sides of pan from hot cake. Using 2-tied fork, prick holes on top of cake . Drizzle lemon glaze over top and spread on sides of cake. Cool completely before removing pan bottom. Garnish with thin slices of lemon.

1/3 cup lemon juice
Combine ingredients and heat to boiling.

Pound Cake
I love making pound cake when I have alot of eggs, like now, I might make pound cake today.I do have alot of pound cake recipes...which one to make, anyway here is one from 1968.

1/3 cup vegetable shortening
2 sticks margarine
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
2 Tablespoon lemon extract
Cream shortening, margarine and sugar together. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Use electric mixer for this creaming, but beat remainder by hand. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together3 times. Add alternately with milk in 3 parts and beat well after each addition. Add lemon extract. Bake in well-greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Cool on rack before taking from pan.( should be almost cold before taking from pan)
