Here is the jest of things to come.
Monday----will post if it is not stormy, or if I didn`t have a bad day at work. Will post a dessert.
Tuesday---same as above, you never can have too many dessert recipes.
Wednesday---- will post a main dish, these might even be salad, sometimes salad can be the main meal
Thursday---a side of some kind, maybe a salad or vegetable
Friday---Thank goodness for friday---will post a bread
Saturday---up in the air, might not even post, depending on what`s going on
Sunday---as day of rest.. ( might post any category)
All of these things are depending on the weather. If an holiday is coming I will try and post recipes, that someone might make during that holiday.

Kitchen is now open again
Finally the kitchen is now open back for more recipes to share. I will try and get a recipe on here at least three times a week.I am gonna have a different schedule of sorts for tge recipes, I haven`t really figured out the schdule as of yet.When I do I will post it on here.

Irish Soda Bread
I know, alittle late on the Irish recipe , but better late then never, lol.
Irish Soda Bread
Mrs. joseph w. Ruzick
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/3 to 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 Tablespoon caraway seeds , optional
Sift dry ingredients. Make a hollow in the center and pour in 1 cup buttermilk. mix with hands and add enough more buttermilk to make a firm , but not dry dough. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly. Shape into a round loaf and cut across top so that is will not crack .Sprinkle with carawy sees, if desired. Place in buttered skillet and bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
( This is the traditional bread of Ireland. It shouold be broken, not cut and is usually served with hot tea.)
This was in the 1967 Kansas City Kansan`s Silver Spoon Cookbook.

Grandma`s Warcake
This cake is similar to raisin bread and it is from 1967 Kansas City Kansan`s Silver Spoon Cookbook of that year.
Grandma`s Warcake
Mrs. Tom Selby
2 cups sugar
2 cups boiling water
1 Tablespoon shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
walnuts, if desired
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
Combine sugar, water, shortening, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, raisins and walnuts, if desired and bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. cool. combine with sifted flour, baking powder and soda. Bake in moderate oven until cake tester comes out clean.
* I baked this cake at 350 degrees

Carrot Celery Salad
Carrot Celery Salad
1 box celery gelatin ( don`t know if it is still available, I haven`t never seen it)
1 or 2 carrots
1 cup celery, diced
3 or 4 radishes
garlic salt to taste
salt
Prepare gelatin unsing 1 1/2 cups hot water and 1/2 cup cold water. Pour into 10 x 6 x 2-inch pan. Slice carrots into rounds. Dice radishes. Combine all ingredients and chill.

Russian Potatoes
These potatoes are really good and yummy. I bet they would be good with fresh potatoes dug from the garden, just had to put that in , as I am getting ready to plant some potatoes this week, hopefully before it rains.

4 medium potatoes
1 small onion, minced
salt and pepper
2 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoon sour cream
Peel and cube potatoes. combine with onion, salt and pepper. Cover with boiling water and simmer until tender. Drain. Add butter and sour cream and cover. shake pan gently. Let stand a few minutes before serving. Serves 4.

Crnogorski Prijesnac
Ok, don`t ask me to pronounce this, because I really don`t think I can. It taste like cornbread.

3 cups yellow cron meal
2 cups flour ,sifted
4 teaspoon baking powdr
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 pound bacon, diced
1/2 pound brick cheese, diced
1 cup green onions, diced
1/2 pound butter, melted
3 cups buttermilk
2 teaspoons lemon or vanilla flavoring
sift cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt. Add eggs. Add bacon, cheese, green onions, melted butter and buttermilk. combine slowly and thoroughly. Add flavoring and pour into 9 x 12-inch greased pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
